The Kinderzeche in Dinkelsbühl, a historical play and parade that tells how a group of children saved the town from being plundered by the Swedish Army in 1632, is this weekend. The annual knights and jousting tournament at Kaltenberg castle in Geltendorf takes place this weekend. More than a thousand traveling artists, jugglers and vagrants turn the castle into a medieval scene; living workshops show the ancient arts of the Middle Ages. The Altstadtfest (old town fest) today and tomorrow in Herrieden is a traditional fest with tables and benches set up all through town between the booths selling local delicacies and the entertainment section with live music. The official opening ceremony takes place on Saturday at 5 p.m.; Sunday is also open store Sunday with shops open 1 -- 5 p.m. herrieden.de
