The Kingdom of God is not a multi-level marketing company. We should not be motivated to love others or befriend others with the primary agenda of leading them to Christ. We should love people because they are people that our father loves. We should serve people because they are people that Jesus served. Our motivation should never be to get someone else to do what we want. Think about it - if we are modeling conditional friendships based on how or if they will respond - what does that say about our Father? If we truly love people - they will see the love of God demonstrated. It is a nearly irresistible. Love them because God loves them - be friends with them because they are interesting people and enrich your life and you to theirs. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
