The KwaDukuza Municipality situated on the Kwa-Zulu Natal North Coast, seeks to fill the following positions and accordingly invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced applicants for appointment to the position as indicated. MUNICIPAL SERVICES DIRECTORATE KDMPS 05: EXECUTIVE SECRETARY: TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES (TASK GRADE 7: R112 500.24 – R146 031.12 p.a.) Requirements: A Gr. 12 at an NQF level 4, Computer literate (MS Word Excel & Power-point); 2 -3 years secretarial/ administrative experience. Experience: Co-ordinates activities and requirements associated with the Executive Director’s office through the application of administrative and secretarial procedures and execution of sequences associated with the communication, planning, prioritization and organization of critical, confidential and important appointments, events/ functions and meetings. Attends to specific office duties associated with preparation, typing, photocopying, circulation safekeeping/filing and retrieval of documents/ correspondences and communicating with visitors and officials sourcing and making available routine information pertaining to scheduled activities of the directorate. Organising and scheduling meetings/ appointments with internal departments and external organisations, arranging venue and attending to refreshments requirements. KDMTS 87: 1 X EXAMINER OF DRIVERS LICENSES/ EXAMINER OF VEHICLES (TASK GRADE 10 R R160 565.88- R208 413.84 p.a.) Requirements: A Gr.12 at an NQF level 4; Traffic officer’s Diploma or Grade D Examiner of driver’s licenses/ motor vehicles; a valid code B/08 driver’s licenses, No criminal record(proof must be attached) & have 2 - 3 years relevant working experience. Preference will be given to candidates with the highest qualifications, experience and registered as such. Duties: Conduct examining of learners & driver’s licenses & motor vehicles duties in accordance with legislative requirements and procedure manuals including information and recording. KDMMM 108: DISASTER MANAGEMENT OFFICER: (TASK GRADE 10: R160 565.88- R208 413.84 p.a.) Requirements: Grade 12 at an NQF level 4, Computer literate (MS Word, Excel & Internet) and Code B/08 driver’s license. 3-4 years of experience in rescue relief & coordination management environment. Attend to operative requirements and procedural during potential and actual disasters. Attends to specific priorities administrative tasks and activities and monitors the execution of procedural applications. KDMFS 01: MANAGER: FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES (TASK GRADE 15: R327 054.36 – 424 538.04 + Locomotion allowance & Cell phone allowance in terms of Council’s policy) Requirements: Gr.12; + a National Diploma in Fire Technology at an NQF level 6; Computer literate (MS Word & Excel), Code B/08 driver’s license; 5 years relevant experience within the Fire Services of which 3 years must be at a managerial level. CIVIL ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE KDMCE 08: ADMIN OFFICER: ED CIVIL ENGINEERING (TASK 10: R160 565. 88 – R208 413.84 p.a.) Requirements: Gr.12 Senior Certificate at an NQF Level 4, Computer Literacy (MS Word, Ms Excel and Internet); 3-5 years ‘experience in a Municipal Environment/local government administration as Secretary or Admin Officer. SKILLS Customer Service, Report Writing and minutes taking skills, Good Communication skills both in English and Zulu; be able to work under pressure. Duties: • Provides Executive support to the office of the Executive Director Civil Engineering: by managing day to day functioning of the office of the ED: Civil in the professional, efficient and organised manager that project good image of the entire organisation. Administrative duties and coordination of the ED: Civil Engineering Diary. Must have 3-4 years relevant experience (Preferable in Projects Management) Duties: - Delivering technical support and evaluating proposed projects in alignment with the respective municipal IDP and the regional & Provincial growth and development plans. Projects Managing labour intensive projects in line with the EPWP framework and the related reporting requirements. Arranging regular projects progress meetings. Ensure compliance with all legal aspects and conditions, as required by the various spheres of government. Conducting site visits/meetings to ensure compliance with business plan conditions; managing cash flows and committed project expenditure. Verifying payment certificates and preparing monthly payment schedule documentation. Maintaining project performance data on the MIG MIS; Assisting with other related municipal infrastructure programs and supervision of staff. KDMCE 13: DRIVER/GRADER OPERATOR (TASK GRADE 6: R93053.28 – R120801.36 p.a.) Requirements: Grade 10 (standard 8) C1 + PDP and Grader Operator Certificate. A minimum of driving and operations of 6 months; be able to operate plant or equipment. Duties: Be able to operate at least one plant or equipment. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING DIRECTORATE KDMLED 42: MUSEUM CURATOR (TASK GRADE 11: R189 557.52 – R246 064.20 p.a.) Requirements: A B Degree or Equivalent – NQF Level 5/6 with majors in History, Anthropology and /or Heritage /Culture. Computer Literate (MS Word & Excel); 5 years appropriate experience. A valid Code EB/08 Drivers licence. Duties: Managing & co-ordination of museum activities in the research, collections, information, exhibition, education, culture, tour guiding, security and general assistance section and attend to all administrative matters relating to them. Manage: research; information (library/archive/internet cafe); collections department including matters relating to implementation on collection standards & code of ethics & developing a collecting plan & programme and carry out collecting. Establishment of required collection accession registers (manual exhibitions & in consultation plan additional exhibitions, carry out necessary research, write and translate text; to manage plan & oversee all matters relating to education, tour guiding, culture and outreach. To plan, organise & carry out outreach events & devel - opment of partnerships with stakeholders. Managing & supervising staff in all the designated sections. To train & develop staff & monitor performance. Prepare quarterly, annual and other reports as required.
