Prior to embarking on his film career he was a successful magazine publisher and journalist. In 2006 Port Town premiered at the third annual LAHIFF. The feature documentary was inspired by some of the best stories published by San Pedro Magazine, which Baric founded in 2002. Subsequent film projects include feature documentaries: Searching for A Storm (premiered at LAHIFF 2009) chronicles war crimes case of Croatian general, Ante Gotovina, Bloody Thursday, the story of how West Coast dockworkers overcame huge odds to win their union during the Great Depression; and A City Divided, the history of the USC vs. UCLA L.A. cross town football rivalry. That premiered on Fox Sports in 2013 and was used as a catalyst for a charity campaign that netted $600,000 for USC and UCLA cancer research hospitals. He is currently in pre-production on LA Waterfront, a PBS SoCal documentary film about workers at the Port of Los Angeles that also examines the state of middle class jobs in a global economy. Baric and his wife, Denice, are the proud parents of twins, Kyle and Katija.
