The LNPs Driscoll has resigned from Parliament and candidates are being called.Labor has whispered that they may endorse the former Federal Member for Petrie Yvonne Dath citing that she is well known in the area. I have NEVER heard of her so her presence in Federal Parliament must have been riveting. She was also defeated so why endorse her? Is it a prerequisite in Labor to be female? I for one, at the risk of being declared a misogynist have memories of Carmen Lawrence, Anna Bligh, Joan Kirner, Julia Gillard and Kristina Keneally who have led the Party into oblivion with only one of them surviving more than one term (Bligh) and then leading Labor to a total massacre. I was watching the Premier on television a few weeks ago and thinking to myself Youre gone !! - then the opposition leader came on and my first thought was , no youre not. Pick some talent on merit, not on gender. Labor should do what the LNP did and endorse candidates NOW for the 2015 election. They should set up a defacto Shadow Cabinet and I for one would love to see Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale as leader of the opposition. Annastacia Wheelbarrow hasnt got either the personality or media savvy to beat Newman although I think she could in a stand up fight.
