The Lakers did a poor job containing Denvers one-two punch in Kenneth Faried and Ty Lawson, the Nuggets out-muscled and out-hustled L.A. as well. Los Angeles didnt seem like they wanted this win as much as their opponent, which is a big problem coming off their worst loss in franchise history. The Bench Mob was excellent in this one: Xavier Henry(10pnts, 5rebs), Ryan Kelly(24pnts, 11rebs), Robert Sacre(8pnts, 8rebs), and Jordan Farmar(24pnts, 4asts) gave off the energy necessary to stay in the game and keep the team afloat. The two starting guards took care of the ball with Kendall Marshall(8pnts, 14asts) who came back to his senses and Jodie Meeks(16pnts) who only went 6/15 from the field. Pau Gasol(27pnts, 5rebs) was the only starting big man who made an effect in this contest, but couldnt grab enough rebounds over the very aggressive Kenneth Faried(13rebs). Lakers once again score a very high number, but it all goes back to the story of great offense but completely lack-luster defense and wanting it more than the opposition. Next game back in L.A. against Kevin Durant and the O.K.C. Thunder on Sunday(12:30pm[PT]). On to the next one. #LakerLove Fan Question: Do you think the problem for the Lakers has been defense in general or the heart it takes to play hard all game long? I think it might be a bit of both cases.
