The Last Night That I Ever Spent With My Father Before He Passed Away Ironically Was Recorded The Night Before I Had To Return To My Gig In Atlantic City. At His Request On The Night Of September 13th, 1988 I Played For Him While He Recorded Me. He Passed Away On October 9th. Less Than A Month Later. He Wanted Me To Play My Warmup Exercises On His Practice Pad In His Bedroom For Him And Also Demonstrate My One Handed Roll On The Snare Drum And Then On The Practice Pad Which Is What Is Recorded Here By Him To Cassette. The 2nd Part Of The Cassette Is Me Trying Out My Roommates New Yamaha Drum Kit In His Studio. He Asked Me To Tune Them For Him And Then I Jammed On Them. My Roommate, Robert Farina Recorded Me Playing Without My Knowledge! Anyway My Dad Liked It So We Put It On The Cassette Using A Double Cassete Deck After The Warmup Routine Was Recorded.
