The Light in Life I have been in prison for more than eight - TopicsExpress

The Light in Life I have been in prison for more than eight years, but for me the day of reckoning came when my marriage ended in divorce five years ago. That meant I had lost my son forever. This drove me into an abyss of despair. Thoughts of suicide lingered in my mind continually. I lived in both physical and emotional darkness. After trying to pray, that night I dreamed that an unidentified light healed the wounds of my heart. Today I know that light was Jesus Christ. From the time of that experience to today, I faithfully pray. Also, I joined an English Bible study that meets twice a week. Gradually the wounds in my heart have begun to heal as I have come to understand what it means for God to accompany us when we are walking through our darkest times. (See Ps. 23:4.) What a surprise I had this year before we celebrated the Chinese New Year! My ex-wife and my son whom I had not seen for five years came to pay me a visit. How does one describe this amazing grace? Now I am even more deeply convinced that Christ is the light that guides me and will give me a brighter future. Christ is the light of my life! John 1:1-5 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 He was in the beginning with God. 1:3 All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being 1:4 in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
