The Limiting Effects of Sin The Bible records that man was created in the image of God. The creation process requires that man be formed from common, worthless sand. This simply demonstrates the genius and excellence of our God. Oftentimes, He prefers to use humble things or things perceived as meaningless to demonstrate how powerful He is. He changes a nobody into a somebody. That is exactly the story of man. Man was moulded out of sand and when acted upon by the breath of God, he also became a god, capable of performing, constructing and inventing lots of amzing things, simply because he has been created in the image of God. God invents, man can also invent; God created the world, man can also create another world within that world; God decides the fate of things, man can also determine the fate of things by the decisions he daily makes. Of course, he was created in His image. This simply means the whole world is your playground. You have the potential to rule it and subdue it; in fact, you have the power to do almost all things you wish to do with it, as long as it doesnt fall out of the boundary of Gods plans for you. Youre no longer mere, worthless sand but a god created in His likeness. However, anytime you allow sin to come into your life, you get a reduction in value. Your potential depreciates and, if care is not taken to get back on the right track very fast, eventually becomes worthless. A potential-laden god shrinks into worthles dust. Dont forget that ancient, still-active curse: From dust you came, to dust you shall return. Sin, no matter how well disguised it is to be enjoyable, has nothing good to offer you. It only limits you by turning your god-status into a sand-status. You cant afford not to live up to that potential deposited inside of you, so its time to do away with sin and live for Him. The world awaits your revelation and the unleashing of those potentials deep inside of you. Live to fulfill them.
