The Live at Mission Blue Concert series announces its 11th Season premiere to take place Saturday, January 17, 2014 at 7:30 pm. MUSA, comprised of eight instrumentalists playing either the violin, viola, cello, or harpsichord, opens the Season. Opening reception to follow. Kevin Fryer, Artistic Director of Live at Mission Blue, declared: “Mission Blue Center has proved to be a unique acoustical jewel. We launched the Live at Mission Blue Concert series in the Fall of 2003. Now, 11 years later, we celebrate the many fine performances by artists of international standing who have graced our stage. We never dreamed we would be so successful in this endeavor. Each concert is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.” Artists appearing in the 11th Season are: MUSA, Masters of the Baroque, Kitka and The Lee Trio. A pre-concert talk is given prior to each performance at 7:30pm by Bruce Lamott. Lamott is an instructor in Music and Western Civilization at San Francisco University High School and Professor of Music History at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He also teaches continuo realization for the apprentice coaches in the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program. Sitting atop the majestic San Bruno Mountain in Brisbane, CA the Live at Mission Blue Center is at 475 Mission Blue Blvd. The location has plenty of free parking.
