The Logan County Fair and Rodeo has ended as well as the Circle the Wagons Tour. We actually got through two performances without getting wet but tomorrow is another day (and another town). Congratulations to Tyler Scales, the winner of the Tour and also the bareback riding in Sterling. He will receive a beautiful shotgun, two day turkey hunt and $200 Cabella’s gift card. Second place and the Henry rifle will go to Craig Wisehart and the third place award of a $400 gas card goes to Jake Bocco. Thanks to all of you riding event guys that supported the tour and we look forward to next year. On to the rest of the results at Sterling. Saddle bronc champions were Cody Martin on Q67 Earth Friendly and Hyannis, Nebraska’s Will Shaffer on Q47 Whistlin Dixie. Both scored 78 points. In the bull riding it was Jake Bocco that got all the chili. Jake was the only man to make a qualified ride in two days and was rewarded with a total of $4072 for his efforts. The Do or Die bulls were outstanding this week (no rides at Yuma). In the tiedown roping it was Texan Landon McClaugherty with a rapid 8.5 run. Landon made a clean sweep of it placing in the team roping and steer roping as well, leaving Sterling with over $3,000 (should have entered the bull riding Landon). Second went to Luke Tkach with 8.8 followed by second generation roper Riley Pruitt with 8.9. Kaycee, Wyoming twister Dennis Hepp won the steer wrestling with a 4.7 run. A tie for second went to Tylor Bond and Trell Etbauer. Trell and his pretty wife Kaylee photo finished into Sterling but it had their adrenaline pumping as Trell also got a check in the tiedown roping as well as Kaylee in the barrel race. Team ropers Garrett Grieve and Jesse Echtler took top honors in the team roping with a 5.4. Once again it was Kelly Yates, topping the leader board in the barrel race with a 17.23. Second went to Laramie’s Carla Beckett with 17.38 and Chandler Markel’s 17.68 was third. In the steer roping this morning it was Bryce Davis that finished the three head event as the champion . We head for Kimball, Nebraska in the morning for two performances with the great folks there. Next Thursday will start the Wyoming State Fair rodeo in Douglas then we can catch our breath for a couple days. Happy Trails!
