The London Dungeon is located in City of London, Greater London in England. The London Dungeon was opened in 1974. Originally it was meant to be a museum of the horrible history of London but later on actors were used to make the experience more interactive. Scenes inside the dungeon include: Labyrinth of the Lost (a mirror maze), The Great Plague & Surgery (a set of the 1665 great plague), Judgement (18th century Courtroom where visitors are sentenced for humorous crimes such as “doing pee pee in the Thames” or “having an ugly girlfriend”.), Traitor Boat Ride to Hell (after being sentenced in the previous scene the visitors experience a boat ride where they take their last journey through the gates of London Tower. Once through the gate the ride tilts 90 degrees and the visitors are shot into the dark sewers below. Almost the entire ride is in total darkness.), Sweeney Todd (The visitors are greeted by Mrs Lovitt before entering Sweeney Todd’s Barbers Shop where they receive a “close shave” in one of the special binaural audio chairs which give the visitor the eerie feeling as though Sweeney Todd is stood right behind them), Jack the Ripper (The visitors are shown a short film, and visit the scene of a pub where people are talking), Bloody Mary (Visitors are told the story of Bloody Mary and then one of them is sentenced for Heresy. The sentenced visitor is then swapped for an actor and “burned at the stake”), Great Fire of London (Visitors are shown a short educational film about the Great Fire of London in 1666), Exremis: Drop Ride to Doom (The visitors are treat as criminals who are sentenced to being hung at Newgate Prison. The visitors sit on chairs which elevate into a courtroom where they are sentenced to death. A noose drops infront of their faces and their chairs drop suddenly into the darkness below.) Reported Paranormal Activity Shadowy apparitions have been seen throughout the attraction. A staff member has seen the ghosts of children who were playing ring-a-ring-o-roses in the Jack the Ripper area.
