The Lord Jesus is not the Author of confusion but of peace and everything we do must be done orderly. The Lord Jesus showed us the two elements of the new birth, WATER AND THE SPIRIT. Water is the figure of burial, which is done on earth to cover the remains of one that is dead. Peter showed us in 1Peter 3. 21, that this is the answer of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ and as the water in the days of Noah, saved the obedient and destroyed the disobedient, even so today, baptism does save us and separate us from the world.; Paul showed us in Romans 6, that we are buried with him in baptism unto death and circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, showing that the thoughts of our old mind are buried with Jesus Christ and we rise to walk in new intentions to worship him as our Lord and our God. The need for and the manner of water baptism was clearly shown in the baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8; 38, they both went down into the water and Philip baptised him. .The two water baptism and Spirit baptism makes one baptism and are separately shown in scriptures. In Acts 8, when Philip preached to Samaria, when they believed they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus, both men and women, Acts 8. 12 - 17.. even Simon the sorcerer was baptised, in water However. After at least 8 days when the Apostles Peter and John came they found they HAD NOT YET RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST. The Lord Jesus made clear distinction so that no honest heart can be deceived. In the case of Paul, he received the Holy Ghost long before he was baptised in water and ACTS 22.16 BEARS RECORD THAT IN WATER BAPTISM IS WHEN AND WHERE OUR SINS ARE WASH AWAY BEING REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS. MEN MAY ARGUE BUT THE RECORDS ARE CLEAR AND NEED NO CLARIFICATION.. In Acts 10 when Peter was sent to Cornelius, the Holy Ghost fell while he was preaching, yet he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 19. 1 - 5, the final stage was set and set for all generation. These disciples of John were re-baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus in water, before receiving the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands of Paul. The epistle to the Ephesians stating, ONE LORD , ONE FAITH AND ONE BAPTISM, WHEN VIEWED WITH ACTS 19. 1 - 5 SHOWS THAT HERE, ONE BAPTISM REFERS TO ONE ACCEPTABLE BAPTISM IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, since the disciples there were baptised twice, having been baptised unto John but now were baptised unto JESUS CHRIST. These are the true teachings of the word of the gospel as the foundations laid , cannot be removed for they are settled in heaven and loose men on earth. They are not exhaustive and we can give more information and we can show in other deeper ways why these truths are immoveable but we cannot change the need to be baptised in water and in the Spirit to enter the kingdom of heaven. It is in repentance that the believer die to sin , by mentally accepting the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus AND ACKNOWLEDGING HIS DEITY AS THE LORD FROM HEAVEN AND THIS IS THE FOUNDATION FOR SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST, THEN FOLLOWS BAPTISM.
