The Lord constructs His Kingdom by establishing single family units, joined house to house. These individual cells, when grouped together, create a commu- nity of faith that supersedes all earthly governments and thrones, a community in which His precepts, His ways of living, are revered and enacted. It is a beautiful way of life, saturated with love, strong familial bonds, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. It never ends, but carries the faithful onward from Earth into eternity. I have experienced it, and I cannot be dissuaded from its reality and goodness. Where love reigns, the family flourishes. Where the family flourishes, society flourishes. Where society flourishes, the arts flourish. The inverse is true as well. Where love wanes, the family fractures. Where the family fractures, society fractures. Where society fractures, the arts rot. The arts measure the vital signs of a society’s spiritual health. No fulfillment tops that of empowering the single-unit family to take up the God-ordained responsibility of making disciples of each new generation. How can we hope to evangelize the world if we cannot succeed at evangelizing our own children, if we neglect the opportunity to empower them with the fluency and eloquence to articulate, in word and song, the love that they have experienced and the truth that they have learned? - from The Song of Annie Moses
