The Lord had said to Moses, “Pharaoh will refuse to listen to - TopicsExpress

The Lord had said to Moses, “Pharaoh will refuse to listen to you—so that my wonders may be multiplied in Egypt.” Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go out of his country. Today’s commentary by Dave Whitehead, Senior Pastor, GraceNYC.org, Author of Making Sense of the Bible -> bakerpublishinggroup/books/making-sense-of-the-bible/349330 This is a hard Scripture for our generation to handle. Yet we may be reacting more out of our cultural bias than true injustice. If anyone would be ultimately qualified to harden a heart, wouldn’t it be the LORD? And if God is powerful enough to change a heart, wouldn’t that also means that God could have reasons for what he does that we may not understand? The superior power and the superior perspective go together.
