The Lords Prayer - A Lesson in Provision and Deliverance I wish - TopicsExpress

The Lords Prayer - A Lesson in Provision and Deliverance I wish devoted followers of Jesus the Christ would begin to realize the power found in the sample of prayer Jesus taught His disciples. Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. (Matthew 6:9-13 ESV) It first starts assuming a familial relationship, our Father. This shows how we have been adopted into the Family of God and have the right to petition God as His children. Second, it makes us realize our Father has infinite resources surrounding Him. Who is in heaven. Third, there is nothing evil or impure in Him which means He cannot give to His children anything which is evil or impure. God is NOT the originator of poverty, sickness, death or any other form of lack. Everything He provides comes from His holiness. Hallowed be your Name. Also, as His children, we have been given His Name! We are holy, as God is holy. God desires we experience life of supply and prosperity which originates from the place where thrones are made of emerald, streets paved of gold, and gates are made of single pearls. He wants His family to have access to the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. God wants His family to have all these resources now! That which God wills to exist in heaven is to also exist for His children on earth! He does not want there to be a difference or disparity of resources between heaven and earth for His children! Prosperity is the Divine intervention of God intersecting with the daily needs of His children. Prosperity is living in the present, receiving Gods benefits and recognizing His benevolence. Prosperity is receiving daily manna. It is not accumulation of resources in the natural, which removes ones dependence on God, instead, it is taking that which God provides daily and properly utilizing it to meet either ones personal needs or the needs of others. Give us this day our daily bread. Human relationships must be honored as well, especially within members of the family of faith. If one is not careful, one will limit their ability to receive the prosperity and providence of God because of unforgiveness. Also, lack of forgiveness by Gods children limits the ability to receive forgiveness from God. Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. There is a direct linkage of forgiveness from God and forgiveness of others. Temptations will come, but they do not come from God! He will not and does not tempt any of His children. God is a God of deliverance not temptation. With every temptation He knows what is to come and prepares the path accordingly. He knows the degrees of temptation His children are prepared for and has deliverance ready to be received. There will be times of trial. The enemy will oppose the children of God and attempt to make them forget the blessings their Father desires for them to own. The enemy will try to make Gods children doubt their adoption, doubt their rights, doubt their resources. This is why Gods children must take up the shield of faith, to quench Satans attacks. The Lords Prayer is more than a model or pattern of prayer for the children of God, it is a declaration of Gods intent of prosperity, providence, and deliverance for them to experience daily. It was never meant to be the rote platitudinous prayer it has been become. Ask God to reveal to the fullness of all contained within these five verses and ask Him to experience His daily plan. Then life will be truly abundant!
