The Lord’s Church I bless all who sent me birthday - TopicsExpress

The Lord’s Church I bless all who sent me birthday salutations and kind notes. Truly the Lord’s people are the most endearing and majestic on earth. Jesus promised to build his Church that the authorities of hell could not overcome. We have not seen it as of yet and have had many high hopes end in disappointment and in some instances disillusionment. Some attribute this to the fact that the manner in which fellowships function rarely incorporates all of the power dynamics featured in the ministry of Jesus and the Early Church. There are those who say that Church History might be best described as 2,000 years of ignoring the priceless presence of the Holy Spirit. I believe that the root problem is deeper than that. The Good Shepherd insists that his sheep will hear his voice and will follow him. There is no place more vital that spiritual leaders do so than in building the Church that he promised. We have assumed that his Church will primarily be a duplicate of previous ones with only a few new bells and whistle doctrines and functions. I don’t think that bears evidence of being the correct approach as that mode of building fellowships has failed. Christians who’s most frequent interactions are with other Christians and are about the happenings that they hear about from around the world have the impression that the Church has huge influence. Sadly, this is not the case. Church growth statistical experts report that church growth in many nations is in decline. Most all of Europe, Scandinavia, the UK and even America have been declared as to have entered a post Christian era. I do not have the answers for our dilemma. However, I am suspicious that a major component is for churchmen to wait on the Lord in humility. We should be expectant of instructions that are likely to have innovations for building church that would not occur to us apart from his ongoing voice. I do not believe that Jesus is anxiously gripping heaven’s banisters waiting for us to build his way. He has already waited 2,000 years and throughout the years has maintained a remnant that has kept the hope alive. He is relaxed and can afford to wait on the generation that will follow his moment by moment instructions. I’ve entered my 73rd year. Hopefully I will live to see the Lord’s authentic Church strutting all of her Holy Ghost powers everywhere on earth. My high expectation is to witness and participate in the glory to glory progression about which the Bible speaks. What a joy it will be to leap from one level of faiths glory to the next triumphantly.
