The Los Angeles Times printed a rather nasty op-ed about the fangirls of accused Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. This was my comment on her rant: The accused is innocent until guilt beyond reasonable doubt has been established in a court of relevant jurisdiction. The media repeating accusations and claims of the government and its law enforcement authorities does not constitute evidence until a court so accedes, and once entered into evidence, such material and testimonial evidence does not constitute fact unless so determined by the jury (or the judge in a bench trial). While the prosecution has material and financial resources that overwhelm virtually any defense, responsible and caring citizens should await the verdict of guilt before making their picnic plans for the lynching. After all, our government is never wrong, right? Besides, who can pass up a good hanging even if the term "fair" in "fair trial" is hard to say with a straight face? latimes/news/opinion/opinion-la/la-ol-dzhokhar-tsarnaev-free-jahar-fangirls-20130710,0,5441256.story
