The Lunar Eclipse in Aries: The time to create As you may have read, there are many things at play with tonights 9.30pm full moon Eclipse in Aries. With some much going on, you may have over looked the energy and courage that is being provided to you to make your inspirations reality!! Today is a great day to put some time aside and ask your self.....what have I always wanted to create? because now is the time to do something about this. The Lunar Eclipse in Aries Very early Wednesday morning, if your skies are clear and you’re on the west coast-ish, you should be able to get a peek at the Lunar Eclipse. Even if you’re not able or willing to wake up at 4 a.m. tomorrow to view the Moon, you’ll want to check it out before you head to bed tonight. It won’t be doing it’s “Blood Moon” thing yet, but it should be big, bold, and beautiful anyway. A Full Moon embodies the tension between opposites, as it marks the time when the Moon is exactly opposite the Sun. This Full Moon is in Aries, the fire sign representing courage, spontaneity, and action. It is also a sign ruled by Mars, the warrior god. The other side of the polarity is occupied by the Sun in Libra, the air sign representing balance, peace, and harmony. Libra is ruled by Venus: the goddess of love, beauty, and the creative arts. The energy of this eclipse throws a spotlight on the ways in which the polarity of Libra and Aries needs to be balanced within each of us. For me, this has been playing out in my creative life. I’ve been working on a couple writing projects for some time. I’m finding lately that if I want to achieve my goals on these long, ongoing things, I have to set clear boundaries around my creative time, and to protect that time fiercely. That’s a healthy expression of Aries energy: setting and protecting boundaries, fighting for what I want to achieve, and taking action toward my goals. Still, I want to spend time with my husband, my friends, and my family. I want to say “yes” to pleasurable activities that fill my creative well. I want to allow enough pleasure in so that I am inspired when I sit down to write. That’s a healthy expression of Libra energy: connecting with others, observing beauty, saying “yes” to the needs of our loved ones. This balancing act between Aries and Libra is a work in progress in my life. But I feel this eclipse will definitely bring the issue to the forefront for the next six months. But it’s helpful for me to be aware of this so that I can more consciously make decisions and choices regarding my creative time and my relationships. It can be tempting to cast Aries/Mars as the big, bad, scary energy here – and to see Libra as all peace, love, and light. But it’s important to remember that neither one is wholly positive or negative. Sometimes, for example, we may need to fight. Fighting can be good if you’re fighting for what’s important to you and what you’re passion about – as long as you’re not trampling upon the rights and needs of others. That’s where Libra comes in. Libra reminds us to be aware of what is fair and just. You need Libra energy to find the beauty in the world, and to feel your connection to others. But too much Libra without Aries, and you could find yourself giving in too much, laying around “enjoying” too much, and not getting anything done.
