The Malamulele Demarcation Task Team in Limpopo says its suspension of the residents protest action has not ended their demand for a separate municipality. The protest was suspended on Friday after a lengthy meeting between the task team members and police. The situation is calm at the moment, Police have continued to maintain a strong presence. Task team spokesperson Isaiah Ndhambhi says they will continue to engage various stake holders on their demand. The discussion for the municipality thus continues. Very fortunately the Premier of Limpopo province is with us, he says. Residents say their demand to have their own municipality is not based along tribal lines. They explain that the proposed municipality will include areas inhabited by the Venda speaking people.
