The ::Man Up:: trip to Portland was a whirlwind of amazing, where the hell do I start... from the excessive brunch/brewery-hopping to our hostel driveway (flower painted of course) boom-box rehearsals (that inspired some locals to dance along in the street), photo/music/take-out/make-out assistant Pamela for your unwavering support and love, and for braving a pack of kings on this ridiculous ride... to the long anticipated show night, the friendly green room sessions with not-for-long-strangers, the cross-country connections, the vogue-boy-yoga-warm-up voyeurism, the rowdy-in-spite-of-our-chronically-polite-king-selves post-show debrief goof-off at the hostel, to the trip home from hell thanks to our massive group head cold/meta-hangover plague (in the words of Justine Puck: Its all about the collective experience, right?)... We couldnt have asked for more gracious hosts, Blow Pony/Airick/Austin (and Patrick for the hookup!), the go-go dancers for so fabulously accepting and executing our last minute request to jump into our finale group numbers dance circle, Double Duchess for blowing our MINDS (and my neck... still isnt quite functional from all my thrashing). ALL YALL, I hope and look forward to doing this AGAIN!! The Blowpony crew has always super impressed me with their commitment to creating and fostering relationships with queer communities far and beyond their home city, and to spreading the message of unconditional acceptance, compassion, and love as widely as possible, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for letting us be a part of that. We are ever more inspired to keep the QUEERUPTED vibe alive!! Your party was rammed full of beautiful, diverse, unified, happy people!! (Not to mention their energy as an audience! Wow!)
