The Master of the Telecaster, The Iceman, or The Razor Blade MR ALBERT COLLINS would yesterday Oct.1st., have turned 82 years old. Ill never forget the chat we had @ DJURS BLUESLAND FESTIVAL, in Denmark in July of 1993. Right after in August he was diagnosed with lung cancer which had metastasized to his liver, with an expected survival time of four months. Albert sadly passed away on November 24, only 61 one years old, RIP, Albert, You will always be in our minds and hearts... Beside his unik guitar playing is Albert also remembered for his humorous stage presence, which is recounted in the documentary Antones: Austins Home of the Blues: Collins was playing a lengthy solo one night at Antones and left the building whilst still playing. Collins returned to the stage still playing the solo and resumed entertaining the audience in person. Shortly afterwards a man arrived at the club and gave Collins the pizza which he had just ordered.
