The Miseducation of Children by David Elkind has to be the most confusing early childhood development theory ever. Its even more confusing than Maria Montessori. although i am becoming a fan of the Montessori method I have a hard time as a teacher saying "you can learn all on your own" I believe the parts that explain guided exploration, and spontaneous discipline, but not so much with some of the other things. maybe Im wrong, but if a child thinks a turkey is purple, I think I should be able to "not on this planet". And this is coming from an artist! imagine that!
