The Miss Universe pageant is always such an exaggeration of what each countries females are represented to look like. Ever country is an exaggerated version of the American Barbie doll. I think each woman never, ever represents their country the way a majority of the countrys females appear to look like. For example....when they said, Miss Jamaica...she didnt even look like or represent looking like she was from Jamaica. When this does not happen, I believe it just disregards the real essence of the culture of that particular country. Another example is Puerto Rico. The woman competing, Catalina Morales Gomez, was very beautiful, but doesnt represent the island as I see it. When looking at each of the contestants, I would rather agree that one of the following was a better choice: Miss Hormigueros, Miss Isabela, Miss Juncos, Miss Lajas, Miss Lares, Miss Las Marías, Miss Las Piedras, Miss Moca, Miss Salinas, Miss Yabucoa, or Miss Cabo Rojo. But truthfully....none of them quite have the essence of the traditional Puerto Rican female close to looking like a Taino. Anyway.....good luck to whoever wins this evening.
