The Mississipip Legislature has voted against our special needs - TopicsExpress

The Mississipip Legislature has voted against our special needs children and their ability to seek a private education using some of our taxpayer money. This is the email I have sent to my own representative who voted against our kids: Representative Huddleston: I was dismayed to learn that you voted against the interest of our special needs children in allowing parents to take funds to seek private education for our special needs children who have been so sorely neglected by the public school system. I have a severely autistic son who is a senior this year....which only means hes been bodily present in school all these years....with virtually NO effort being made to actually educate him or prepare him for life. The neglect has been PROFOUND and efforts to advocate for him only served to create retalization against his older sister (who was valedictorian in 2012). Despite the fact that he is eligible to recieve educational services for another 4 years, he will be graduating in May as I can no longer stomach the daily neglect within the system. Not that we have a private school locally that I could use as an alternaive, but the fact that a representative of the people would vote against these children....so the money will be put towards more idiotic bureaucracy in Jackson so the kids can be neglected and abused in perpetuity...is absolutely apalling to me. I have been a Huddleston supporter in the past....but I cannot begin to convey the depth of my anger and disgust at your decision to vote against the special needs kids of Missisisppi. They deserve better. Peg Pickering
