The #MontrealProtocol has been one of the most successful policy, effectively dealing with the ozone depletion problem presented by the threat of increasingly used CFCs. It is now known that if we had used bromine compounds instead of chlorine, which have the same refrigerant function but are much more aggressive on the ozone, for the period we used CFCs before the Montreal Protocol came into action, ozone depletion would now be a serious threat to humanity, showing how delicate Earth systems can be. Lets take this great story as an example of how the world can unite to solve critical problems, in the midst of one of the greatest challenges of our time, climate change.
