The Mpumalanga Department of Education has allocated 250 bursaries to learners who want to pursue teaching as their career, with a special focus on Maths, Science, Accounting, Economics and Agriculture. The department also partnered with the Mining Qualification Authority SETA to add further 90 bursary opportunities for learners who want to further their studies in engineering fields such as mining, metallurgical, geology, mechanical, electrical, electro–mech, mining survey, environmental, rock engineering, analytical chemistry, industrial, chemical and jewelllery. Interested individuals are requested to contact Dr Sipho Mkhabela at 082 318 7366 for more information on the Mining SETA Bursaries, and Mr Madlozi Mtshweni at 071 409 6784 for bursaries in teaching. “The department urges all interested learners who passed grade 12 including those who wrote their grade 12 examinations this year 2014, to urgently contact the above mentioned officials with regards to the application processes,” the department said. – SAnews.gov.za
