The Mystery of Christ’s Resurrection Do you know why the bible says in Romans 10:9 – “Believe in thine heart that God hath raised him (Jesus Christ) from the dead” and Romans 10:10 – “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness?” Do you know what the significance is between believing that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and that by believing it is unto righteousness? What is the “mystery” in regard to the resurrection of Jesus Christ? This mystery was hidden in God way before he made everything through the Word of God who is Jesus Christ (Romans 16:25) Ephesians 5:31, 32 – “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” Here, the Apostle Paul is comparing in equal terms the mystery of a man leaving his father and mother and being joined unto his wife and the two becoming one flesh with Christ and the church. A man leaves his father and mother and is joined unto his wife and they become one flesh by making a child. The child is the one flesh produced by the father and the mother. Two human beings have come together and have made a new human being. And this new human being has a new spirit given by God because God is the Father of spirits. Now in regard to Christ and the church, a person will leave this world and be joined in one spirit with Christ (by the washing and renewing of the Holy Spirit). And this person once joined with Christ becomes born again and is a new creation and a child of God through Jesus Christ. But what has this to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ? And what is the significance of believing unto righteousness? When God raised Jesus from the dead he made the two, a human being and God, into one flesh who is Jesus Christ. In other words, the resurrected Christ is a resurrected human being and God combined into one flesh. That is why it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved by believing God raised him from the dead and confessing him as Lord. When the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, Jesus left everything that was God behind and became a man. He was born of a virgin so the blood running through his body was not tainted with sin from the first man Adam. Thus, Jesus, by being born into the earth became the second Adam as the scripture states. He was like Adam (before Adam sinned) in that he was sinless and pure. But unlike Adam Jesus made sure he spent time with his Father in constant fellowship. He learned and depended upon the Word of God. We know this because of all the references in regard to him spending time with God in prayer and how much he knew the Word of God. Jesus lived and abode in the Word. He did this continually and was also anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power and went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the Devil because God was with him. All during his time on earth he suffered by overcoming temptation and being obedient to God by obeying the Word of God. The Word of God that they had and that he kept was the law and the prophets. And he kept the whole thing and never missed it on anything. He never sinned. He obtained the righteousness that is of the law by his obedience which he did by faith. Adam disobeyed the Word of God that had been given to him and chose to submit to the Devil. Adam sinned and death (spiritual and physical death) came upon all mankind through his sin. Adam did not believe that what God had said. So God found a man that would believe his Word and that man was Abraham. Abraham believed God and God credited him with righteousness. Abraham received the promise of the Spirit. This is important to remember and I will come back to it so keep it in mind. The bible mentions the “Sun of righteousness” in Malachi chapter four. When Ezekiel saw God he saw a fire from his loins downward and a fire from his loins upward. God is a Spirit and a consuming fire. That is a description of righteousness. Sin and any kind of unrighteousness cannot be in God’s presence. Any kind of the best of man’s righteousness cannot be in the presence of God. It is like a pile of filthy rags. You would be wiped out into nothing. A sinner cannot be in the presence of God. That sinner would explode and disintegrate into complete nothingness. So when Adam sinned he made it so that nobody could ever be in the presence of God. God loves mankind. He made man and woman to be his children and to be in his presence and to enjoy fellowship with him forever. God blessed man with all the earth and told him to be fruitful and to multiply. The man, leaving his father and mother and being joined unto his wife, would produce one flesh through a new child being born. And this new child would have a spirit from God the Father of spirits. And thus God would have continuous children being born and living forever in fellowship with him. But Adam sinned and messed everything up. Now every time a child is conceived, God the Father gives a new spirit to that child because he still is the Father of spirits. But when the baby grows to be a child, whether he knows God’s law (the Ten Commandments) or not, he knowingly or unknowingly breaks God’s law and sins. And immediately, when he breaks God’s law, he dies spiritually which is separation from God. If babies or very young children die they are still pure and go to heaven. But there is a time early on when a child will sin either knowingly or unknowingly because the sin nature of Adam is in all mankind. Thus, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. And the Devil will make sure that the earlier the child dies spiritually the better. That way the Devil can get a hold of that child’s life and fill their lives with demonic influence. And then he can use them to do his bidding and do all sorts of evil. And if a person dies without Christ they are damned forever. But God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but receive everlasting life (John 3:16). So God sent Jesus to be born of a virgin. He left all his Godly attributes behind and became a man. God became flesh. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins he became sin (He knew no sin. He never sinned) so that we might be the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21). And now we come to the part of this message that many people, even Christians, do not believe because the Devil does not want this to be believed. If people believe the following then they will believe God raised Jesus from the dead and believe unto righteousness. Jesus lived a sinless life. He took our sin nature which we inherited from Adam and became sin when he died on the cross. He was separated from God. And we know that when someone is separated from God they die spiritually. He also took all the things that cause physical death which is sickness and disease. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by being made a curse for us. Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree and Christ hung on Calvary. Then when he died he went into Hell and suffered the penalty of death. For three days he was in the belly of the earth. Man is a spirit and has a soul and lives in a body. There are three realms. There is a spiritual realm, a realm of the soul, and a physical or natural realm. Adam’s sin entered into all three realms death entered into all three realms through sin. So Jesus had to suffer a day for each realm and area. He had to taste death for everyone. But then God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus became the firstborn among many brethren. Jesus conquered death by being raised from the dead. He became born again of the Holy Spirit and God raised him from the dead. And in raising Jesus from the dead, God combined into one person, into one flesh, a human being and God, thus making a new creation that never existed before. This is why the angels long to look into the gospel. They cannot have what we have available for us through Jesus Christ. By raising Jesus Christ from the dead, God made a new man, a new creation that never existed before, that was 100% God and 100% man. Jesus’ spirit is all righteousness and his body is a resurrected human body that will never die and can be in the presence of righteousness (God). And Jesus Christ sat down on the right hand of God and God called him God (see Hebrews chapter one). Jesus Christ is this new creation man (and God at the same time) in a new resurrected, powered by the Holy Ghost super human body, which is completely filled with the righteousness of God. And because God made the two – God and man – into one new flesh through Jesus Christ, we can, through Jesus become the righteousness of God and enter into God’s presence any time we want. Now what is even more exciting is that when Jesus Christ returns the dead in Christ will be raised first and we which remain shall be changed in a twinkling of an eye and we shall all be like Jesus Christ because we shall see him as he is. And then we will be able to be in God’s presence as new creations filled with the righteousness of God (which makes us just like God) with new bodies just like Jesus. And we won’t blow up into nothingness. There is no sin or unrighteousness in our spirits. We are new creations by the Holy Spirit (remember the promise to Abraham?) Our souls have passed through the fire and we are completely free from anything that is unrighteous. What is left is pure and holy. And we have new bodies just like Jesus. So we will live forever with God as his children (spirit, soul and body) because we are just like him through Jesus Christ. Jesus is coming back soon. Romans 10:9, 10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
