The N word and R word both derogatory, both ugly, and toxic, with a long history of being used to put people down to make it easier to diminish them and in some cases to go to war against and destroy cultures. Why would these words be adopted by the people who are being oppressed by them, why use the oppressors negative language to describe yourself?? To have luminaries such as Micheal Wilbon and Charles Barkley brag on national television that they regularly use the N word every day and consider it a term of endearment and affection is so totally wrong minded it makes my skin crawl. The N word and R word are NOT terms of affection or endearment, they are terms coined by oppressors, by slave holders, by conquerors, to use them as if they are our terms is to have been totally tricked and bamboozled. All racial slurs are ignorant and unskillful no matter who uses them and also shows a lack of ability to think and use skillful language.
