The NU Club of Greater New York is also pleased to announce this years honorees for their contribution to NU and the greater NYC community: Debbie Bisno (Comm 92), Steve Weissman (Medill 01), and Michael Blake (Medill 04). Debbie Bisno - Debbie is a 1992 graduate of the School of Communications. She is the Principal of Bisno Productions which has produced numerous award-winning shows including the Broadway productions of WAR HORSE, “Grace,” (starring Paul Rudd, Michael Shannon, & Ed Asner;) ANNIE, & the West End revivals of “Passion Play and Sondheims Merrily We Roll Along. Currently, Ms. Bisno is producing the Tony nominated Broadway production of Terrence McNallys Mothers and Sons starring Tyne Daly. She was recently listed on BACKSTAGEs annual Future Broadway Power List. Steve Weissman - From Silver Spring, Md., Steve Weissman is a 2001 graduate of the Medill School of Journalism. He joined ESPNEWS, ESPN’s 24-hour sports news network, as an anchor in January 2010 and has been honored with many awards, including Best Live Sports Reporting and Best Sportscast from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and Best Sports Reporting from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. Michael Blake - A Bronx, NY native, Michael Blake is a 2004 graduate of the Medill School of Journalism. Blake is the Director of Public Policy & External Affairs for Green For All, a national organization working to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Previously, Michael served as the Senior Advisor for the Office of Public Engagement for President Obama’s 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee and as the Associate Director of Public Engagement & Deputy Associate Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs at the White House.
