The NWS has issued a Freeze Warning for our area tonite thru 8 am Weds. Temps in the low to mid 20’s are expected across the area tonite as cold, arctic air moves into the region. 8 – 12 hours of below freezing temps are possible during Warning period. Take steps to protect pets, livestock and tender vegetation. The use of space heaters should be limited to well ventilated areas, free from combustible materials. Please check on family, friends and neighbors, including our seasoned citizens, to make sure they are aware of the coming cold weather and have everything they need. Although there is great uncertainty at this time, a second blast of very cold arctic air is expected to arrive in the region late Thursday. Some forecast models indicate that there may be enough moisture in the air accompanying this cold air mass to trigger light snow, snow flurries or frozen precipitation. Continue to monitor local weather stations for updates and additional information.
