The NYC Office of Emergency Management encourages New Yorkers - TopicsExpress

The NYC Office of Emergency Management encourages New Yorkers affected by yesterday’s storm to report damage to their homes and businesses to 311. This data will be collected, mapped, and used to assess the damage in areas affected by the April 30 rainstorm and subsequent flooding. The city must meet certain damage thresholds to qualify for federal disaster assistance programs. Information reported to 311, either by phone or online (nyc.gov/311), about damage to homes and businesses will not be used for any purpose other than assisting OEM in developing a more accurate assessment of the impact from the storm and flooding.
