The Nation of Islam is one of the strongest communities/institutions that has ever arisen from Africans of the Diaspora. They are behind every major movement this country has seen concerning African Americans and others. I feel they do not get the credit they deserve, simply because they do not operate looking for credit. But I know what true strength and leadership is. The Nation has evolved right along with the rest of the country. I hear African Americans say we dont have this. . and we dont have that I think you need to study the Nation. No, I am not a member. I am simply recognizing one of the strongest forces in America that has evolved from our time as slaves. I am thankful for the Nation of Islam. They are in the streets. I attended Frederick Douglass high school in the late 90s. At that time Douglass was a war zone. Guess who came to provide security? They have also provided security to some of the worst housing projects in Baltimore. They are the only force of men who i have seen consistently serving throughout my life. Who else can say they have been securing our streets for 30 years or more? Folks can say what they want, but you probably are safer because of the work of the Nation. I want to be just like them when I grow up. lol Much respect and homage to the Nation of Islam.
