The National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) is a body of professionals that meet to deliberate on specific policy issues affecting EMS systems throughout the country. The body makes recommendations to NHTSA and the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS (FICEMS). The current goal is to revise the 1996 drafted EMS Agenda for the Future. “EMS systems have grown and evolved, many goals of the past have been accomplished. New issues like mobile integrated health care, evidence-based clinical practice and automated crash notification need to be fully integrated into a coordinated vision.” This will be a consensus–and-data-driven process with broad stakeholder representation.
