The National Environment Agency will work with the Institution of Engineers, Singapore to oversee the training of energy managers. A new Singapore Certified Energy Manager Steering Committee will look into the qualification of the Singapore Certified Energy Manager or S-C-E-M Programme. The programme certifies engineers for skills needed to manage and track energy usage. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the opening ceremony of the National Energy Efficiency Conference. Under the Energy Conservation Act, companies must appoint at least one energy manager who holds an SCEM certificate by the 1st of April next year.
