The National Spring Football League FOR: IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The National Spring Football League announces today that there will be an adjustment to their inaugural season launch originally scheduled for March 2014. In an effort to be more transparent, and Whereas, Founder and CEO, Terrell Parham suffered a massive heart attack on January 12, 2014 which will require an extensive rehabilitation, and the NSFL would not like to envision starting the season without their Commander and Chief , and Whereas, a portion of the funding secured for all the various teams across the league has not yet been released, The NSFL Advisory Committee and Principal Financial Backers have elected to project forward the inaugural season to better facilitate a smooth launch and ensure a successful season. The actual inaugural season will begin in March, 2015. This will allow adequate time for the league to refine operations and finalize finances for all of its member teams. The NSFL would have preferred to begin the 2014 season fully funded with all of our USA teams. As of January 2014, the NSFL has not fully secured, absolute and complete funding for all of our 8 US based franchises. Because anticipated funding has not yet been released, the NSFL’s already committed investors advised that the NSFL kick off when full funding would be available in 2015. Until the issue is 100% resolved, the NSFL will go forward with the building of its brand, and stabilization of the organization. The NSFL is not the first organization to travel down this path, but it has positioned itself to be the solution to this dilemma. The National Spring Football League (NSFL), is a Professional Developmental Football system whose primary focus is to provide a training and a developmental culture, where qualified, football athletes with professional aspirations (the NFL and CFL), can be viewed, and evaluated under game conditions. These select athletes would then compete against intense, high caliber competition, and generate quality game film, under NFL rules. All this would be done in hopes of one day gaining an opportunity to showcase their skills in the NFL or CFL. Our business model will resemble Minor League Baseball’s AAA standard or the NBA D-League The NSFL will boast a revamped footprint in 2015, with familiar franchises such as Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Houston, San Antonio, Arizona, Los Angeles, San Jose, and two teams from Mexico City. Also joining the league will be Las Vegas, Alabama, and two more International Cities, Monterey, and Cancun, to give the league a truly international flair. Players currently under commitment Times and locations of League Mini Camps and Organized Team Workouts will be announced. As no one has made any teams, if you have a contract then you were selected to the 85 man training camp roster for that team only. Throughout this 2014 Off Season the NSFL will hold scheduled Workouts for local players and tryouts. . Only the players identified already on the 85 man roster will have a priority spot, and NOT HAVE TO ATTEND A WORKOUT, TRY-OUT OR COMBINE. Organized Team Workouts / Activities, would be an exception to these processes, as every player that is under contract per the 85 man roster still has to compete for one of the 55 spots for the final Team roster. Not until the league Funding is finalized will we start bringing players in to camp to start our 2015 Seasonal Play. 1. There will be no Feb. 3 report date 2. The Season will be played March 2015 3. We will have Exhibition Games once Funding is secured. 4. Players are free to opt out of their contracts and play somewhere else (in 2014 Season) 5. In 2014, the NSFL will be searching for new players for the upcoming season. 2013/14 College Players and new Free Agents will be targets 6. Currently Contracted Players are advised to keep working out and stay in football shape. And be ready to go, once the total funding is secured 7. NSFL Mexico will continue to secure their funding as well and also continue to expand from 2 teams to 4 teams in 2015 In closing, this is not the death of a season, but the BIRTH of a new league, with better Management groups in place and more financial stability. The National Spring Football League would like to thank its supporters, players, and staff for all of the support, prayers, and encouragement received in this time. With your continued support the NSFL will develop a more defined, Healthy and Positive Direction and Prospective for the Company. We look forward to seeing all of our fans on the sidelines. The NSFL took tens of thousands of dollars from people... strung people along for months saying there WOULD be a season. Then... when they are supposed to open camp in a few weeks... Terrell Parham has a Massive Heart Attack. Michael Greer has been the front man for the NSFL... Terrell Parham isnt even MENTIONED anywhere unless you REALLY do some digging. Why would an alleged heart attack to one person within the NSFL cause them not to have a season when it was to a person that you NEVER heard of or saw in front of a camera? Honestly... like Sonny Clark, Trey Braid and myself said a month ago on radio when we all said SOMETHING would happen right before camp that would cause the NSFL to not have a season. And wouldnt you know it... 2 weeks before camp was supposed to break... someone has a massive heart attack. Not even a normal one... but a MASSIVE one! #Epic
