The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Tornado Warning for: South Central Gallatin County in Southern Illinois. Eastern Hardin County in Southern Illinois. Southwestern Union County in northwest Kentucky. Until 6:30 pm CDT. At 5:40 pm CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located southwest of Shawneetown, and moving Southeast at 30 mph. Hazard, tornado and quarter size hail. Source, radar indicated rotation. Impact: flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile Homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near. Sturgis around 6:00 pm CDT. Other locations in the warning include Cave-in-rock. Radar indicated hail, 1.00IN. Recommended actions Take cover now. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If in a mobile home, a vehicle or outdoors, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
