The National Weather Services and MEMA held a 1600 hours Weather Conference Call - we are still under a Winter Storm Warning, which goes into effect at 2000 hours this evening through 1700 hours tomorrow. The following is a summary for our area based on the Weather Conference Call: General Impacts: Event Timing: Rain this evening...mixing with sleet and snow late this evening...mainly snow expected after midnight tonight into Monday morning. Additional light snowfall possible Monday afternoon. Expect snow covered roads to be treacherous tonight into Monday morning. Snowfall - 1 to 4 near the coast...3 to 6 across interior areas from around Salisbury to Princess Anne...to 4 to 8 across Dorchester County. Temps - Tonight/Monday - Lows tonight from the upper 20s to lower 30s. Highs Monday in the lower to mid 30s. Winds - Northeast winds increasing early tonight to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 to 35 mph...except near the coast where northeast winds will increase to 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 40 to 45 mph. Moderate to strong winds will likely continue through Monday afternoon...slowly decreasing Monday night. Storm Surge - Minor flooding is expected at the Atlantic beaches where storm surge is expected to be 1.5 to 2 feet above normal (primarily for Monday mornings high tide cycle) We will continue to monitor the weather forecasts and provided updates as needed - the next scheduled update will be at 1100 hours Monday Morning..
