The Native American Humane Society joined scientist Dr. Jay Kirkpatrick and animal advocate Ruth Steinberger at the 2014 Animal Grantmakers Conference to talk about managing animal populations on tribal lands. Their presentation discussed implementing a comprehensive, culturally-appropriate systematic approach to humanely and cost-effectively managing stray dog and feral horse populations on reservations in consultation with tribal leaders and with the support of stakeholders to make efforts consistent and sustainable.
