The New Orleans Boosters defeated Livonia (Michigan) 7-4 Wednesday to stave off elimination in the 70th annual AAABA National Tournament in Johnstown, PA. New Orleans scored early when Cole Freeman was hit by a pitch to lead off the game, scoring on Chris Sciambras double the next at bat. Sciambra later scored on a single by Bryce Adams. In the third, the Boosters added two more runs on a solo homer over the left field wall by Kyle Bracey and an RBI single by Cody Ducote, which scored Jordan Caillouet (who reached on an infield error). Livonia threatened by scoring two runs in the second on back-to-back doubles and a single. Another RBI single in the third inning added a third run. Livonia eventually tied the game 4-4 in the sixth with a bases-loaded groundout. New Orleans retook the lead in the 7th inning when Cody Ducotes RBI single plated Cole Freeman, who reached on an infield error. In the eighth, Kyle Bracey doubled and scored on Jordan Caillouets double. Troy Lewis RBI single scored Caillouet and the Boosters seventh and final run of the game as New Orleans eliminated Livonia 7-4. Jonathan Ebersole picked up the win in relief of starter Pierce Liberta, who pitched 5 1/3 innings. Connor McWilliams closed the game and earned the save. As a result, New Orleans advances to face the winner of Wednesday nights Columbus/Johnstown (Martellas) game. The site and time will be determined once the opponent is determined. This summer marks New Orleans 68th year as a franchise of the All-American Amateur Baseball Association. The AAABA is currently hosting its 70th national tournament in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
