The New Year Exodus 12:1-2 1 While the Israelites were still in the land of Egypt, the lord gave the following instructions to Moses and Aaron: 2 “From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you. These were the beginning of the instructions that God gave the Israelites as it concerned Passover before He was to deliver Israel out of Egypt. God would also like to give us instructions on what he would have for us to do. As we go into this New Year may we do so with a desire to move forward in what God has for us to do. May we ever be conscious of the still mall voice if the Lord when He speaks to us. There are many who expect God to speak to us in a booming voice like we hear on TV or in the movies but that is not how we will hear God. The Bible tells us in 1 Kings 19:11-12 “11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” In this passage of Scripture, Elijah was waiting to hear from God and we see that he expected to hear him in many different ways, but he ended up hearing God in a way that he didnt expect. As we grow in our relationship with God we will learn to hear His voice in a way that only we can understand. As we go into this New Year lets begin to listen for the voice of God in a new way so that we will be able to hear what God is saying to us. This is a new season and things in your life are about to change for your good. In this new season look to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith and as we look to Him we will begin to see clearly in this New Year. May the God of peace and the peace and love of God be with you always!
