The New York Times wrote and article that highlighted conflicts of interest for physicians serving on a guideline work group (which makes treatment recommendations) for the American College of Cardiology, essentially depicting them to be bad people and unethical doctors. Why doesnt the Times write an article that highlights how congresspersons can buy stock in a company and then implement laws that increase the value of their stock, making them millionaires overnight? I will admit that there are some bad doctors out there and i am not saying i agree with the guidelines, but if i had to chose between the ethical and moral values of a doctor and a congressperson... well... Which would you chose?
