The New York Timess culture critics dubbed it a potentially controversial and definitely an out-of-the-box career move - the American icon Clint Eastwood has directed and produced a film that brings to light the gripping personal story of a German SS sniper defending his homeland within the borders of Soviet Union - a dangerous neighborhood - in the early 1940s. This particular SS sniper, Mr. Eastwood pondered, was actually completely torn by the burden of trying to dream of his wife _while simultaneously_ shooting those commies to the head day in and day out. For Christs sake, let us honor this guy! After everything hes been through, CAN WE AT LEAST DO THAT?, the Republican Eastwood quipped emotionally.
