The Next WA LOW is expected to find it hard to develop as it encounters a lot of vertical wind shear in the early to middle part of the week as it tracks SW parallel to the WA coastline. More on this in our video tonight. Heres the latest from the Bureau: Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Western Australia Tropical Cyclone Outlook for the Western Region Issued at 2:00 pm WST on Thursday 23 January 2014 for the period until midnight WST Sunday 26 January 2014. Existing Cyclones in the Western Region: Nil. Potential Cyclones: There are no significant lows in the Western Region at present. On Friday a weak low is likely to enter the southeast Timor Sea from the Top End, and then lie near the north Kimberley coast on Saturday. By the end of Sunday the low is expected to lie off the west Kimberley coast but is unlikely to have reached cyclone intensity. This system will be closely monitored for development potential during the early part of next week as it tracks to the southwest off the Pilbara coast. Conditions are not entirely favourable for development of this system. Likelihood of a tropical cyclone being in the Western Region on: Friday Very Low Saturday Very Low Sunday Low
