The Nilambur Taluk Hopsital now upgraded to District Hospital, Malappuram saw the first of its kind Kidney Dialysis Center which was a result of Private Public Participation. MI. Shanavas, MP was one among the first to support this noble cause by offering an amount of 26-Lacs from his fund, the Nilambur Municipality added an amount of 6-Lacs to get the Dialysis Centre functioning back in 2013. Realizing the difficulties faced by the patients in need of Kidney Dialysis, and to meet the increasing needs of patients this Kidney Dialysis Centre was expanded by adding Kidney Dialysis Machines, which totals to 11 machines, in a new enclosure exclusively for Kidney Dialysis. This Kidney Dialysis Center was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Power, Mr Aryadan Mohammed and has been serving the critically ill patients of Nilambur and its surroundings since 4th April, 2013. I appreciate the overwhelming support received from all those people who have contributed in their capacity for this noble cause. Mr KP Hussain of Fatima Group has been generous by donating 3 machines, Urban Bank, Nilambur contributed 3 machines to this cause, ‘Amarambalam Unit Kerala Vyabharivyavasai Ekopana Samithi’ took initiative to make a new Building for this Expansion of the Kidney Dialysis Centre and contributed up to Rs.19-Lacs. Mr. Rado Paul, a young entrepreneur extended his support by donating Rs.7.5-Lacs and ‘Sparsham Society’ has contributed Rs. 5-Lacs to the Building fund. Realizing the need for a lift system in the Building, the Nilambur Municipality set aside an amount of Rs.17-Lacs for this purpose. Sparsham Society has further decided to contribute an amount of Rs.2.55-Lacs towards the RO Plant to be installed in this complex. ‘The Nilambur Vyabhari vyavasai Ekopana Samithi Unit’ has offered to contribute one machine, once receiving this we propose to function the Kidney Dialysis Centre on three shifts. I take this opportunity to thank all those common people who have done their best for this cause. This has enormously helped patients reach for Kidney Dialysis treatment at the nearest proximity, instead of travelling long distances to reach Medical Colleges or Private Hospitals which are very expensive. The Nilambur Municipality takes pride in bringing out the best Private Public Participation. In the history of Govt. Hospitals in Kerala, this is the first Govt.
