The OHA/OMMP has made updates to their Application and Change - TopicsExpress

The OHA/OMMP has made updates to their Application and Change forms. Those forms can be found at public.health.oregon.gov/DiseasesConditions/ChronicDisease/MedicalMarijuanaProgram/Pages/forms.aspx The change reduces the fee to $20 for those who have, Proof of compensation from the VA based on a finding of 100% service connected disability OR receipt of a needs based pension from the VA as described in OAR 333-008-0020. The way it reads ... those who receive Dependency and Indemnity Compensation might qualify as well. Just a reminder - below is what we, as cardholders, are paying for in addition to all costs associated with running the OMMP program. I have copied and pasted this information from the OMMP website that I have listed above. The OMMP is funded entirely by fees generated by the program. The fee increases and new grower registration fee were based on the estimated number of fee payers and the amount of revenue needed to fund the following public health programs: Emergency Medical Services: $1,750,000 Drinking Water Program: $3,000,000 School Based Health Centers: $500,000 CCare (family planning): $1,150,000 HB 2380 (midwives): $30,000 Trauma System: $300,000 Seniors Farmers Market Program: $5,000 It is anticipated these fees will be sufficient to support the OMMP for the 2011-2013 biennium as well as the 2013-2015 biennium. The need for continuing the fee increase beyond June 2013 depends on the projected state revenue and policy decisions of the Legislature. Now I say, Ask YOUR representative why it isnt $20 for everyone and free for the Veterans and disabled. We, the sick and dying are getting ROBBED of 7 million dollars per year as summed up above. Ive sat in the meetings, its true! There is $7-9 million for this and next year, are you mad yet? Im preaching to the choir, right?
