The ONR of 1981 went alone and won no seats despite a very creditable showing. They then joined with the ULF and the DAC in 1986 to form the NAR. The COP went alone in 2007 and won no seats with a creditable showing, They then joined with the UNC and the TOP in 2010 to form the PP. See how history repeats itself? This very persistent third party has been with us politically for 33 years now. If they would simply garner the political confidence and the political PATIENCE, they can become a significant force on the local political landscape, winning seats and so on. Instead they have elected weak and spineless bobolees for leaders - gutless puppets motivated by nothing more than hatred of the PNM who would sacrifice their parties on the altar of tribal political expediency for a cabinet post and a safe seat.
