The Oaks Apartments in Gulfport, MS, is in need of an experienced Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the community at all times, and will also be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities: HVAC certification is required Conduct all business in accordance with the company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc. Perform maintenance tasks personally or oversee and inspect work performed contractors. Keep MSDS sheets current and readily accessible. Maintain thorough knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations governing property storage and management of hazardous materials, including solvents, flammables, caustics and refrigerants. Schedule and perform routine maintenance on all appropriate equipment on a regular basis. Indoctrinate and assist in development of all subordinate maintenance staff. Instill a safety first attitude not only with maintenance assistants but with all staff. Ensure that all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule. Perform and additional duties assigned by Manager or Regional Property Manager. This is a full time position; candidate must be available to be on call for nights and weekends. Position requires at least 3 years of experience in property maintenance of equivalent field, pay is depending on experience. Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
