The Oath of Office taken by all U.S. Senators: I do solemnly - TopicsExpress

The Oath of Office taken by all U.S. Senators: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God. The system allows congress to change/ammend the constitution if the change has public support, like prohibition. If it turns out to not be a good/wise move they can change it back, like prohibition. But they violate their oath of office if they try to make laws contrary to the constitution, like todays gun grabbers. Do it right or leave it alone!
