The Official Campaign Platform for Benjamin Krause -Changing the Conversation- I WILL: 1. Fill in the mass amount of vacant store space by voting to approve measures that will incentivize businesses, large and small, to come back to Calvert County. 2. Vote to give Calvert County employees their contractual raises and earned salaries that have been kept from them in these last several years. 3. Push to open up public areas (such as King’s Landing Park) for further public use including camping for individuals and their families in order to provide recreational use for taxpayer funded areas and increase revenue. 4. Vote to responsibly modernize some of Calvert’s CURRENTLY developed areas into space that allows for better business competition and growth. 5. Vote to decrease taxes that PUNISH citizens for living in our County (property tax) and making money in their private pursuits of financial stability (income tax). 6. Actively fight AGAINST any decree or stipulation from the State government that tramples on the rights of Calvert citizens that are protected in the Founding documents of our beloved Country. I will NOT: 1. Vote for ANY fiscally irresponsible measures or projects no matter who is asking or what is being asked for. 2. Vote to approve ANY more housing developments which litter our beautiful County and destroy the aesthetic quality and heritage that we cherish. 3. Vote to approve ANY increased budget for Calvert County government departments that currently absorb over half of all our County’s income. 4. Support any measure that would actively antagonize or marginalize any group of citizens no matter their poverty level, creed, race/ethnicity, gender, or ANY other individual attribute.
